Frequently Asked Questions for Strength Training

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

When you arrive at our gym, you have our undivided attention. We train you on the proper technique for all lifts and encourage and help you through the program. Training sessions are not group workouts, they are focused on you as an individual. We encourage you to bring along others if you would like, but we are focused solely on making you stronger.

As my dad stated, he has been in powerlifting for a long time. Throughout those decades, he has found one specific program that works for everyone and we base our coaching on this program. It's called Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe. We encourage you to buy his book as it will give you a leg up on why strength training is important and also what to expect.

Building strength is a progression. While you may see your lifts go up in weight at the beginning, the lifts will become heavier and harder as you build muscle. But if you stick with the program, you will see changes in the way you feel and look within just a few months.

Dieting is a gross word, usually associated with fad diets or incredibly restrictive eating. But dieting doesn't have to be gross and can be a positive lifestyle change. We recommend Stan Efferding's book The Vertical Diet as it explains everything down to blood pressure, sleeping, and even suggestions on blood work. It is all scientifically backed by studies and has changed thousands of lives.
